Kinesiology taping is used to support injured muscles or joints without restricting full range of movement and can help correct postural problems and improve lymphatic drainage.

The tape is made using a blend of cotton and nylon. It’s designed to mimic the skin’s elasticity so you can still use your full range of motion. The tape is placed in strips to support joints like knees ankles and wrists; as well as muscles and tendons.

It can be placed in a range of patterns and applications to assure the specific area of your body is targeted and supported in the correct way.

When the tape is applied, it lifts the skin to create a small space between the muscle and dermis layers. This space takes the pressure off swollen or injured muscles, allowing smooth muscle movement and improving circulation.

K-tape is effective in muscle recovery, and prevention of cramps/spasms.

K-tape has many specific uses, some of the common ones include:

  • Improved athletic performance

  • Helps improve muscular firing and contraction patterns

  • Decrease pain and muscle spasms that may occur after injury

  • Supports and holds joints in place

  • Decreases swelling
